In recent years, Einbecker Bürgerspital (EBS) has undergone an extraordinary number of innovations and expansions. In addition to departmental additions and an increase in personnel, this also includes the expansion of modern equipment for various medical areas. The Clinic for Internal Medicine was recently expanded considerably - also with the arrival of the new Head Physician, Dr. Ingo Neumann in April of this year. Now the clinic of the specialist in internal medicine and gastroenterology, occupational medicine and emergency medicine is about to make another significant new acquisition. Dr. Neumann and his team now have eleven state-of-the-art endoscopes at their disposal. "In the past, all of our employees have worked hard to ensure that we have been able to keep making new investments for the benefit of our patients," says EBS Managing Director Tim Wozniak. "An investment like the recent one for the new endoscopes is only possible if everyone is willing to pitch in," says Wozniak. This has made a further contribution to establishing EBS as a modern and future-orientated hospital. This was also made possible by the local seed manufacturer KWS, which sponsored the latest technical purchases for the Department of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. "We are very grateful for the support from KWS," says Managing Director Tim Wozniak. "In addition to our own investments, this sponsorship is a valuable addition that will future-proof primary medical care in Einbeck."

The eleven endoscopes are used for all standard endoscopies of the gastrointestinal tract and are equipped with the latest high-resolution camera technology. From mid-July, capsule endoscopy will also be possible. During a capsule endoscopy, a miniature camera in a pill-shaped capsule is swallowed and travels through the entire gastrointestinal tract, taking pictures of the intestinal mucosa. The small camera also has an LED lamp that illuminates the digestive tract. In addition to the endoscopes, an endoscopy tower is also part of the KWS sponsorship programme. This tower with its powerful processor can be used to digitally transfer the results of the examination or findings to the electronic patient file or the internal hospital information system. This means that paper-based examination results are now a thing of the past in the Department of Internal Medicine.

Ms. Britta Klocker, Department of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, can take appointments for endoscopies on 0 55 61 / 940-241.
