School enrolment at the Paul-Gerhardt-School in Dassel - KWS donates fruit trees

Einbeck, 05.09.2022

Each new year 5 class at Paul-Gerhardt-Schule gets its own fruit tree; KWS SAAT is currently sponsoring the trees.

You are important to us, this is the right place for you, because everyone counts - this was the motto for 97 pupils who started the next important stage of their school life with a school enrolment service on the first day of school in the school park in Dassel.

In bright weather and good spirits, the headmaster Matthias Kleiner looked into the expectant faces of the fifth-graders, who were eagerly awaiting their first day at their new school.

Many of the pupils were already familiar with the big summer party on the occasion of the school's 75th anniversary. They immediately realised how important and welcome they now are in the large school community. And it was precisely this feeling that the parents and relatives were also able to experience. "Every one of you counts, everyone grows, but the community makes us strong," said Matthias Kleiner, explaining the motto. It all depends on the relationships with each other. Just as the branches on trees form a large whole, each individual will become a part of the whole. Everyone looks after, nurtures and cares for each other so that the fruit can be harvested together. Each child was then asked to come forward by name. The class teacher teams of the four new classes and headmaster Matthias Kleiner greeted everyone with a jar of honey, the "Golden Paul" from the school's own apiary. Three pupil mentors from Year 9 were also on hand for each class to support their youngest classmates on their first days at school and help alleviate some of their worries about new things. Traditionally, each of the four classes was given a fruit tree, which the classes will plant and care for on the school grounds. Now the new community was called upon for the first time, as the trees were surprisingly large and were transported safely to a shady location with the help of the student sponsors. The sponsorship for the tree planting campaign of the fifth grades until 2026 was presented as a gift from KWS Einbeck, represented by Dr. Anja Matzk, at the summer party on the occasion of the school anniversary. She wished all pupils and their trees good fruit. Headmaster Matthias Kleiner thanked her once again for the gift during the school enrolment service.
