Exhibition:
PLEIN AIR – PAINTING OUTDOORS

Creative workshop to take a breath

Simply painting in peace - the participants of the workshophad the opportunity to do this in two respects. The weekendat the Waldhaus in the Borntal above Einbeck offered them theopportunity to find time to paint away from their everyday lives.

Twelve colleagues from KWS, ten students from the HanoverUniversity of Applied Sciences and Arts and four lecturers led byProfessor Dorothee Weinlich worked creatively together.

"In the changing sunlight of the early summer days, the group enjoyed the seclusion of the forest’s edge and sharpened their sensory perception for the colors and sounds of nature."

Painting outdoors

Like the landscape painters of Impressionismin the second half of the 19th century – was a first for almostall participants. In this stimulating working atmosphere, it wasexperimented with the entire spectrum of designcreative possibilities.

Work was done with pencil, charcoal, pastel, acrylic, paste, earthand grass. On paper, cardboard and canvas was brushed, filledand printed.

The diverse results of this nature and work experience will bepresented in the NEWCOMER KWS Art Lounge, on the KWS Arthomepage and the published catalogue.

Teaching cooperation between Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts and KWS

The cooperation between the Hanover University of AppliedSciences and Arts and Art at KWS has now existed for sevenyears. Students from the Experimental Design course areinvolved in artistic workshops with the company’s employees onvarious creative topics.

The results of this collaboration are presented in an exhibition inthe NEWCOMER KWS Art Lounge.

The focus of the creative work is on exchanging ideasand inspiring each other, as well as the developmentand strengthening of curiosity, openness and the joy ofexperimentation.

In this way, the participants constantly set themselves newchallenges with changing art and creative themes away fromtheir usual working environment. These enrich the students’day-to-day work as well as KWS day-to-day work with newimpressions and promote innovative energies.
