Maria Trezinski – Mad About You

The exhibition “Mad About You” by Maria Trezinski came to a festive close on Friday, February 7, 2025.
During the finissage, visitors had the last opportunity to be enchanted by Trezinski's fascinating art and to talk to her in person.
We would like to thank the artist, whose works inspired and captivated us and many visitors!

Nature serves Maria Trezinski as inspiration for her paintings. By shifting the scale of her motifs, she transports us into a world that normally remains hidden or is instinctively avoided. This unusual perspective creates a fascinating attraction to the supposedly repulsive, whereby the viewer experiences an interplay between attraction and repulsion. Ceramic sections of a room installation complement the paintings, which are characterized by a powerful, colourful brushstroke and blurred sprayed surfaces.

The artist

Maria Trezinski, born in Braunschweig in 1994, now lives and works in Speyer. In 2010/2011, she received funding from the state of Lower Saxony for her work. In 2011, she began studying fine art at the Braunschweig University of Art (HBK), graduating in 2016. From 2016 to 2017, she pursued a two-track approach, studying at the École de recherche graphique in Brussels and at the same time as a master student at the HBK in Braunschweig under Professor Manfred Ellenrieder. From 2015 to the present day, she has already had 18 solo exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions, and has received scholarships such as the catalog scholarship from Hannover Rück SE Versicherung and the Palatinate Prize for Fine Arts in the field of painting.
