Hybrid Barley – the next level of barley is hybrid

The challenges ahead demand a game changer.

Farmers have to deal with changing environments already today and are likely to even more in the future. Our solution: we crossed two genetically different parent lines to create a hybrid game changer. Extending the KWS portfolio by Hybrid Barley means an evolutionary next step combining the existing strength with a future orientation on delivering added value to farmers.

PollenPLUS

The innovative PollenPLUS technology from KWS ensures significantly improved pollen formation in hybrid rye and effectively strengthens the plants’ resistance to ergot: The increased pollen shedding prevents the fungus from penetrating the stigmas, the flowers are fertilized faster and the glumes close sooner – meaning the hybrid rye has the best possible protection.
