Diversity is Treasure

New people join KWS every year. They bring their experience, culture, language and nationality with them - a real benefit for KWS, and we see our internationality and diversity as an opportunity for more innovation and closeness. Each and every one of them contributes their own individual part to the KWS story. The result is a diverse, multicultural, interdisciplinary group that drives KWS every day.

"KWS takes its key role in the production of sustainable food very seriously. I am proud to contribute to a decreased use of crop protection products."
Dennis Reckwell has been working as Scientist in Breeding Technologies at KWS for three years. He can also be found shooting with a Japanese bow in bis spare time.
"In research, we are in the early stages of a long journey to the final commercial seed. Only as a team, internationally and locally, we can be successful."
Linda Schwarz, Senior Research Technician Breeding Technician Corn & Oilseed Crops at KWS in the greenhouse since 2006, appreciates that KWS is promoting work-life balance.
"I have been with KWS since my apprenticeship. As a member of the Works Council, I stand up for my colleagues and take pleasure in helping to shape KWS."
Tamanie Polley, who has worked for KWS since 2001 in Internal Sales and is a member of the Works Council and deputy representative for the severely disabled, is a trombone choir leader and supports Ukrainian refugee families.
"I don't like it when people are made to fear safe food. That's why I like working in Regulatory Affairs. For me, KWS has the perfect mix of internationality and a family atmosphere."
Eva Gietl, Manager Regulatory Affairs and has been with KWS for nine and a half years, loves good food - and ferrets.
"What drives me in my job is the opportunity of contributing to food security. By doing editing in plants, we are shaping a new future for next generations."
Daniel Alejandro Guerrero Bonilla has been a Research Technician Molecular Biology - Genome Editing at KWS in the lab since 2022. In four years, he has lived in four different countries.
"I believe our mission is vital to ensuring a sustainable future for all. I am proud to be a part of a diverse and highly skilled team. KWS is an inspiring place to work."
Devulapalli Shiva Sai Krishna, loves gardening, family time and sports. He has been working at KWS for three years as a Breeding Technician - Rye Breeding in the greenhouse and in the field.
"The two years as a graduate trainee in KWS´s Growing with Science program KWS gave me the opportunity to explore and appreciate the diversity within KWS."
Latifa Mrisho, an Innovation and Licensing manager, enjoys working with people from different backgrounds, expertise, and personalities to develop technologies that add value and support growth in KWS.
"I am excited to have an impact on how food as a whole can be produced more sustainably and, most importantly, with less carbon emissions."
Volker Utesch works at KWS as Head of BU Corn Europe. In his free time, his two daughters and road cycling give him plenty of energy.
"Data is my passion! By analyzing customer behavior, I can assist them to have a good harvest, to be independent and I can also help salespeople to do a smarter job."
Ievgeniia Chapurina, Salesforce Project Manager, has been with KWS for four years and loves reading, good food and the beauty of nature.
"At KWS, I am driven by passion - looking for innovative solutions, optimizing the efficiency of electrical systems and making a sustainable contribution to the agricultural industry."
Lukas Ude, who joined the company in 2015, uses his maintenance expertise to help plan KWS' production - and is pursuing a university degree at the same time.
"Growing up in a village, seeing my parents working hard in fields, I always wanted to do something to support farmers. "KWS has enabled me to fulfil this wish."
Qingquan Wei, Expert Market Support, six years at KWS China and for one and a half years at KWS in Germany, likes international work and finds relaxation while hiking.
"Seeing my work have a direct impact on sustainability is incredibly rewarding. I am fortunate to work for KWS, a company that values its employees."
Mahmood Gholami, Advanced Scientist Quantitative Geneticist, has been with KWS for eight years and uses data analysis to make work easier and more efficient. He enjoys getting in touch with nature in his home garden.
"Field trials are essential for the development of new varieties. My ambition and motivation is to do first-class work in this area."
Kai Wilhelm König has been working for KWS as a Sr. Station Technician in the field for around 10 years - reliably and with great perseverance.
"I want to contribute to making breeding more effective, faster and more robust. That way we can create more yields and thus more food for the world."
Karola Kempkes has been working as a technical assistant at KWS in the laboratory and office for eight years. She loves her garden.

Julia Steinigeweg

Julia Steinigeweg studied photography at the HAW Hamburg and German studies, education and art at the HfbK Hamburg. She is interested in the everyday coexistence of people and the extent to which our current way of life will differ from that of the (near) future.

Marlena Waldthausen

Marlena Waldthausen is a photographer based in Berlin and Amsterdam. She works on assignment for national and international media. In her personal projects she intimately explores gender and power relations. Her work has been published, awarded and exhibited internationally.
